Main tasks

  • Read and interpret diagrams, circuit plans, and specifications from the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Run cable through conduits and through walls and floors.
  • Install brackets and consoles on which the electrical equipment will be mounted.
  • Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment.
  • Establish circuits by joining and connecting cables to devices and components.
  • Check circuits for compatibility and safety, identify system faults, and replace defective components.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
